HOW DO THE MICROBES WORK?The microbial product, T-34, is a blend of naturally occurring, non-toxic, non-pathogenic microbes formulated to break down grease and other hydrocarbon chains into carbon dioxide and water. Basically, the grease is the microbes "food" and carbon dioxide and water (along with trace elements of fatty acids) are the by-products. A grease trap maintained with T-34 will rarely, if ever, need to be pumped. This results in financial savings to the restaurant, as well as an ecologically sound system of eliminating the grease instead of pumping it out of the trap and removing it to a landfill. The Environmental Protection Agency has recently declared grease a health hazard. Fines for disposing of it are being raised and we expect that the bio solution to grease will soon become mandatory. There is absolutely no downside to treating grease traps with microbes. The microbes greatly reduce and/or eliminate the odor often caused by the grease traps. Not all microbial products are the same. There is a pumping company in town that recently branched out into using a microbial solution in treating the grease traps. Even with the microbes, they were finding that they still needed to pump the traps every month and sometimes even twice every month. No one in the company questioned the effectiveness of their procedure and/or products. Not one in their restaurant clientele questioned the results. (It is very difficult to believe that a pound of microbial product dumped into the trap once per month should take care of it all. This treatment system is still somewhat new to most folks.) Well, a friend looked at the microbial solution this pumping company was using under his microscope. There were no microbes in it!! This company had been treating the grease traps with water, with very expensive water. T-34 is manufactured in innovative ways which allow for the extremely high plate counts under the microscope. In other words, non-stop "bugs" in a drop of water, trillions and trillions of them. (Theyre little.) Tight quality control is maintained at all times, so youre receiving top notch quality and excellent results. HOW MUCH PRODUCT IS NEEDED PER TRAP PER MONTH?˝ pound of T-34 is needed per month for traps up to 1000 gallons; 1 pound per month for traps over 1000 gallons. Pre-mix with water and let sit 1-8 hours before dumping into trap. These proportions are without any other added materials. If anything is added to the T-34, then the pounds required of the finished product have to be adjusted. T-34 eliminates the need to use bleach in the drains which feed the grease trap. The individual doing the grease trap servicing needs to know this as well as the owner manager of the restaurant. They will see first hand the horrific odor caused by grease in their restaurant is taken care of and will realize their drains and traps are clean, i.e. in no need of bleach. If bleach is used, T-34 will be ineffective. It is a good idea if the restaurant is newly treating their traps with microbes to have them pump out the trap before they begin the bio treatment system. If there is a lot of grease caked in the trap and/or drains, and if they put the T-34 in directly without cleaning it out first, the microbes will start reducing the hydrocarbon chains to water and carbon dioxide, the chunks of grease inside the trap and drains will start to fall apart and there is a good chance that the chunks will clog the drains. There is a company in Phoenix which requires the restaurant to have its grease traps pumped out and clean before they begin the bio service. They do this to reduce their liability.
