SMZ Permeable Barrier Injection - Extraction System
The volumetric flux through the system will be 5.1 m3/day or greater and the contaminant concentrations will be 10 ppm Chromate and 10 ppm PCE.
The contaminated solution will be injected in the upper well only, while contaminant free solution is injected in the lower well, deeper in the aquifer. The motivation of the injection scheme is to simulate a shallow groundwater plume and identify any short circuiting around the barrier.
